Hair Conditioner: A carrier oil (fractionated Coconut, Jojoba, Sweet Almond, Grapeseed Oil, Moroccan, Argan, etc.) Guar Gum (a natural thickener commonly used in cosmetics and foods), essential oil for fragrance – lavender, lemon, orange, peppermint, joy, 1 cup distilled water (can be filtered water), an empty bottle (a squeeze bottle would be best). Measure 1 ¼ tsp of Guar Gum into an empty squeeze bottle. Add ¾ tsp carrier oil. Add 7-12 drops essential oil of your choice, start with a lower amount, you can always add more. Add water. Stir, shake until the mixture is smooth and clump free and your conditioner is ready to use. One of the benefits of making your own conditioner is that you can customize them. If, after making a batch, you find that you want a thicker conditioner, add more Guar Gum; if you would like it thinner, add more water. You can also adjust the scent by adding more essential oil. Honey Lemon Cough Drops: 12 oz honey (may only need ½ cup), 1-2 Tbs apple cider vinegar, 20-30 drops YL Lemon EO, lollipop sticks and/or candy molds. Pour honey and apple cider vinegar into a saucepan. Bring to a boil and allow it to reach 300 degrees, stirring the whole time so it doesn’t stick. Once it reaches 300 degrees, remove from heat. After about a minute, add Lemon Oil and stir well. Have a greased cookie sheet (for the sticks) and or greased candy molds ready. Allow the honey mixture to cool just a bit until the honey is a little less runny. Using a big spoon, drop small amounts onto the cookie sheet to cover the tops of the sucker sticks and or into the candy molds. Allow them to cool at room temperature until they harden. Vapor Rub: ½ cup solid Organic Unrefined Coconut Oil, 24 drops Eucalyptus Radiata, 24 drops Lemon, 24 drops Peppermint. Whip coconut oil in mixer for 10 minutes, add essential oils and mix with a wooden spoon. Be sure to store in a glass jar in cool place (refrigerator is great). Rub 1-4 tsp on chest as needed for congestion. "Tummy Tuck" Recipe: 1 cup EVOO, ½ cup coconut oil, approx. ⅛ cup vitamin E oil, approx. ¼ cup grated beeswax, approx. 1 cup rose water (you can do part water if you need to), 15 drops of each EO: Frank, Lavender, Grapefruit, and Geranium And here is what you do: Measure all your ingredients (minus the EOs, you’ll just drop those in later). Put your oils and beeswax in your double boiler (you put water in the pot to simmer, then put the glass bowl, or whatever, on top of that and put your ingredients in there). Let that melt all the way down. Your beeswax will take the longest to melt. Use your spatula to mix it. Pour the melted oils and wax into your food processor and let it cool in there until it’s about room temperature. Cooling the mixture in here means you don’t lose as much in the transfer. Use your spatula to scrape every bit out of the glass bowl. Then start ‘er up! It’ll get a little more opaque as it gets going, and I suggest scraping down the sides and off the top at least once before adding the water. Then drizzle in your water. It will turn a much paler color. Because of the EVOO it will be a super pale yellowy hue, other oils don’t leave much color. And it is thinner with the EVOO than with some of the others used. The sound might have an audible change when it goes from super liquid to it’s lotiony state. stir it up and add your EOs, stir real good. add to glass jars for storage. . Muscle Cream: ½ cup coconut oil with 4 drops rosemary, 8 drops marjoram, 8 drops basil and 10 drops Idaho Balsam Fir. Deodorant: 12 drops each of Purification, Lemon and Lavender with 2 oz of crystalux salt deodorant spray (aka Thai Deodorant, found at pretty much all health food stores). Make sure you make the mixture in a glass spray bottle. Purification helps with BO, Lemon is an antiseptic, Lavender for antiperspirant. Owie Cream: ¼ cup beeswax, ¾ cup coconut oil, ¼ tsp vitamin E oil, ½ tsp each of Mel A, lavender, and lemon essential oils. 1. In Pyrex measuring cup inside a pan of boiling water, melt your beeswax and coconut oil, stirring frequently. 2. When oil and wax are both fully melted, remove from heat and add the essential oils and vitamin E oil. Stir until incorporated. 3. Pour into sterilized containers (boiling will do the job just fine with all the antibacterial essential oils in this recipe) and let cool until hard. If kept in a cool dark place, this will keep 5+ years.
